L DESIGN/BUILD, LLC was founded in 2007 by Lida Carlson – owner, designer and licensed contractor. After a successful career in fashion, raising her two boys, and over twenty-five years of experience working on renovations, additions, and new construction projects, Lida’s design background transformed into a passion for working on homes. She seamlessly combines a contractor’s expertise and her eye for design; what sets her work apart is her ability to get the job done right while also creating a beautiful end result.

Lida has always made it a priority to be attentive to her clients’ needs and individual styles. She believes that any home project from an addition, to renovation, new construction or furnishing should be a positive experience. Lida aims to take the stress off of of homeowners so they can rest easy knowing that the final product will match their vision.

Robby Carlson

Robby takes charge of the site supervision as well as material flow to ensure each project runs smoothly. Not only is he her husband, he comes with a wealth of construction know-how and experience as the City of Raleigh’s chief building inspector. He has been in the building industry most of his life.  From building pools, working on developments, retail fit ups, custom homes to commercial and residential building inspections. Robby joining L DESIGN/BUILD, helped complete the full circle of knowledge in making sure we have the expertise needed for all of the projects we work.

Together, Lida and Robby work to bring their clients’ design dreams to reality.
